President of the American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce , a private not for profit membership organization based in NY. Founded in 1949, the Chamber has been the principal US business organization devoted to promoting better commercial ties between the US and Indonesia. Mr. Forrest edits "Outlook Indonesia", the Chamber's newsletter, and contributes regularly to other publications. He also serves on the board of directors of the American Indonesian Education and Cultural Foundation, the Kartika Sukarno Foundation for Indonesian Children and is a member of the board of advisors of the US-Indonesia Society. He frequently comments to the press and government committees on commercial developments in Indonesia. Forrest has created innovative programs and publications to enhance US-Indonesia relations such as “Teach Indonesia” with Scholastic Inc.; “Preventing a Lost Generation” with CARE and UNICEF; “A Comprehensive Indonesian-English Dictionary” with Ohio University Press, and “Sourcing Products in Indonesia”.
